Facilities Update Term 3, 2019 Edition 5
The purpose of our Facilities Newsletters is to keep new and continuing families up to date with major planned changes in our school environment. 2019 has been and will continue to be, a very busy year for the school. I am confident that the strong partnership between our staff, students, P&C and School Council will allow us to work through any challenges that may arise.
New Building
Construction of our new learning centre is moving forward at a rapid pace. Students are particularly interested in the crane. The pace of the build means that the photographs below are almost immediately out of date. This project is fully funded by the state government.

Lift Project
Work commences during the September vacation on a lift connecting the admin platform to the senior school platform. When this and the lift in the new build come on line, disabled access will be provided to all platforms across the school. Project completion is expected by 7 February, 2020. This project is fully funded by the state government.
The plan above shows a view looking up Russell Terrace. The building in the foreground is administration with the library appearing in the background.
The view above looks down Russell Terrace with the library appearing on the right. The entrance adjacent to administration will be closed during the project build with alternate entry points near the hall. The bottom half of the stairs adjacent to the Russell Terrace side of the library will also be closed.
Taringa Parade “Stop, Drop and Go” Re-development
The Brisbane City Council has indicated that they expect to finalise fencing in this zone over the September vacation.
If you have questions regarding this project, the Brisbane City Council can be contacted on 1800 669 416 or at cityprojects@brisbane.qld.gov.au
Tennis Court Resurfacing
Our two tennis courts are scheduled to be resurfaced during the September vacation. Thank you to our P&C for obtaining a grant for this process.
Thank you
I am very grateful for the support and patience of students, staff and families as we undergo our continuing growth spurt. I want to recognise the laser like focus that staff maintain on quality learning despite the facilities changes happening around them. Our students could not be more magnificent.
