Year 5 Term 1 Reflections

As Term 1 drew to a close, Year 5 students were asked to reflect on their favourite subjects and topics of study. With so many exciting lessons to choose from, their responses varied, but two subjects stood out the most: Science and English.

In Science, students enjoyed exploring the fascinating world of animal adaptations. They particularly loved learning about how different animals have developed unique features to survive in their environments. A highlight was researching water dragons, where students dove into the habitat, diet, and behaviour of these incredible creatures that share our school with us.

In English, students had a blast exploring fantasy narratives. From magical worlds to heroic quests, the students delved into creative storytelling, developing their own fantasy narrative based on the characters and setting of Deltora Quest.

4D and their ANZAC Day wreaths

ANZAC Day is a time for us to remember the soldiers who served and died in war. At school, we remembered our ANZACs in a ceremony where we listened to stories, each of the students brought in flowers and greenery so that we could create a wreath for our student council representatives to lay to show our respect.
