Year 1 have been exploring and creating informative texts this term
Did you know not all reptiles have scales? Some have skin!
And some insects breathe through tiny holes in their skin.
Students have engaged with a range of informative texts (books, videos, websites) that report and describe topics of interest and have created information texts. They have used interesting describing words (adjectives) to facts they have learnt on various animals.
1D created Informative Posters on Bees and Ladybugs and finished their learning by making an insect from a paper plate.

Year 2 Digital Technology
Year 2 students have been learning to cut and paste in Microsoft Word to create different digital patterns using letters, numbers or icons. They have also been busy transferring data in to Excel and justifying why graphs, rather than tally marks, may or may not be a better way to display quantity data.
This week students had opportunities to use programmable toys (Beebots), and experiment with adding direction commands to the toys to travel in different directions, making turns and changing direction.
2F have enjoyed creating their informative text about a planet and will be able to share their work with another class.
