Year 4 Informative Texts

Year 4H have been busy this week with presenting informative texts on an animal species. With this task, both Sullivan and Daniel prepared an informative text and presented this to the class as part of their English assessment for this term. They were assessed on articulation, projection of voice, pace, eye contact, posture, use of gestures and presenting as an expert. The speeches were well received by their audience of class peers.

Year 5 students have just completed our English assessment, where we became budding journalists reporting on breaking news about erosion at “Pilly Beach” following the recent Cyclone Indi. Drawing on everything we’ve learned in Science and HASS, we investigated local sources and used our understanding of natural processes to write realistic and engaging news articles. Our focus was not only on reporting the facts but also on evaluating human impact and proposing sustainable solutions.
