District Track & Field Trials

Wishing all the best to the 36 Indooroopilly students who have been selected to compete and represent our school at the Northern Eagles District Track & Field Trials next Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th July.

Interschool Sport – Term 3

Interschool sport will start on Friday Week 5 (15th August) for our Years 5 and 6 students. We will participate in the season with other local schools for a duration of 4 weeks – Weeks 5, 6, 7 and 9 in Term 3.

Students must nominate 3 different sport options. We will try our best to give students their first preference, however, we always need these 2 extra preferences due to the number of students. Students will submit their preferences for interschool sport this week and their sport allocations will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Sports for this season are:

  • Basketball (Boys) – UQ Basketball Courts.
  • Netball (mixed) – WDNA.
  • Dodgeball (mixed) – Toowong SS and Corinda SS.
  • Flippaball (mixed) – Schools’ Pool (TBD).
  • Touch Football (Girls) – Graceville Junior Rugby League Club.
  • Tennis Participation (mixed) – ISS Tennis Courts.
  • Table Tennis (mixed) – ISS Hall.
  • School Based Sport (mixed) – Moore Park.

Please note that most of these sports incur a cost and have limited spaces available; however, we aim to place each child in one of their preferred sports. The options available at no cost are table tennis and school-based sport, as they are held at our school and Moore Park each week.

Parents/Coaches – We are looking for some help!

Students benefit from training in their sports prior to competing against students from other schools. To make this happen, we are asking for some parent volunteers to assist and provide training for the students for a range of sports - days and times can be negotiated to suit our volunteer’s schedules.

Please contact our PE team if you have some experience in any of the sports mentioned above and can help our students get some training at school.

Junior Cross Country (Prep – Year 2)

The Prep to Year 2 Cross Country will be held in Week 6 this term, on Monday 18th July from 9am to 10:30am. We will share more information about this event in the next newsletter.
