5H Term 3 Update – Ready to Learn!

After a busy and productive Term 2, followed by a well-earned break, we’re excited to dive into Term 3 with fresh energy and enthusiasm!

• In History, we’re exploring Australia’s colonial beginnings, learning about the early settlers and their impact.
• English lessons will focus on comparative writing, helping students build analytical skills by comparing texts.
• In Maths, we’ll be working with decimals, fractions, and percentages, developing a deeper understanding of how these concepts connect.
• Our Science investigations will shine a light on – you guessed it – light! Students will explore how it behaves and what happens when it interacts with different materials.
• In the Arts, we’re stepping into the world of drama, where students will get a chance to express themselves creatively and build confidence; honing their acting and public speaking skills.

To enrich our learning, we have several incursions planned throughout the term, designed to keep curiosity and engagement high.

Here’s to an exciting Term 3 full of learning, discovery, and fun!

4I – Exploring Maths Through Art

This term, Year 4 students are looking at a range of different mathematical concepts, including 3D objects. To help refresh our understanding of different 3D objects and terminology, 4I students are working to create a one-point perspective art piece. Using an array of techniques and maths concepts, the children created the illusion of depth. Everyone has done a fantastic job showcasing their creative flair while recognising the real-world connections and applications of mathematics.
