Year 1

Year 1 students were very lucky last week to be visited by some of our local firefighters, who taught us what to do in the event of a fire. We learnt to dial 000 in an emergency, to get down low and go, go, go; to stop, drop and roll if your clothes are on fire; not to hide, but to scream and shout! We can’t wait for the firefighters to return this week so that we can learn all about their fire truck and hopefully get a chance to spray the hose! 3 images in folder

Year 2

In 2A we use CRA (concrete learning materials) to help us learn in our Maths lessons and Numeracy group rotations. This is a fun way to learn and consolidate Mathematical concepts. But don’t just take my word! Listen to what some of the 2A students have to say about learning Maths in year 2…

I love to do numeracy groups because I like doing Mathletics and the Telling Time Bingo game with my friends. - Joanna

I love Maths groups because while you learn you can have fun. - Jessica

We love the Maths games because we get to play super fun games with our group. - Antonella

We love Numeracy groups because they’re fun and they help us learn. - Pani

You can have fun using the CRAs to learn, some of the CRAs we use are unifix blocks, base ten blocks, counters and board games.  I like Numeracy groups. - Lucas

You can use laptops and do fun stuff like Mathletics.  You can also do other cool stuff like play interesting games. - Ashwath

I love Numeracy groups because we get to use base ten blocks and counters, it’s so fun to use them! - Anika

I love Numeracy groups because my brain gets HUGE! - Harvey

2026 Indooroopilly SS Strings Program – Expression of Interest

In Week 2 of this term all the classes in Year 2 attended a little concert given to them by the Year 3 Junior String Ensemble who showed them the instruments of the string orchestra, and demonstrated how they sound.

We are beginning our selection of students for the 2026 Instrumental Music strings program. If your child would like to be part of the selection process, please complete the Expression of Interest form at the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/Ay7kTSFEMP

The closing date for the Expression of Interest form is Friday 22nd August 2025. Results of the selection process will be released in mid-term 4 of this year.
