Queensland Road Safety Week
This year’s Queensland Road Safety Week runs from 18 – 22 August 2025, with the theme ‘We’re One Team Queensland. Let’s drive like it’.
The safety of our students, parents and carers, and staff is paramount, and we all have a role to play. Students become road users at an early age as pedestrians, scooter or bike riders, and are our future drivers. Influencing positive road safety attitudes can never start too young.
We’re asking everyone to consider how you can act as One Team Queensland on the roads:
- Is it leaving 5 minutes early to beat the school rush?
- Is it walking the extra distance to use the school crossing?
- Is it demonstrating courteous driving by giving a wave when someone lets you merge in front of them?
We want our school community to get home safe so you can be there for the ones you love.
Winter Feast – Invitation from local MP Elizabeth Watson Brown
I am reaching out to invite you to our Winter Feast in Kenmore. It’ll be on Thursday, the 21st of August, in Akuna St Park (Near Cubberla Creek Reserve West Playground) from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Expect stews and sweets, slow-cooked meats, mulled wines, heaters, blankets and festive music. As always, we will have vegetarian and gluten-free options too.
This event is part of a long history of free community dinners we have been running in the park every Thursday from 5-7, most of the year. But during Winter, the dinner will run from 4:30 to 6:30 to catch a bit more daylight and warmth. So, if you can’t make it to this extra-special Winter Feast, we’d love to see you at our regular weekly meal.
